New Yorkheroes like Johnny Thunders and Velvet Underground come to mind as well as some of the more rowdy late-60s Stones albums. Classic rock and proto-punk engages beautifully in a soulful street party with bruised dames and cheap liquor. I really dig the stripped down production that aids the 11 songs. Raw, devil-may-care and ballsy – I bet they slay on a stage. “Secrets And Whispers” even recalls The Humpers (remember them?).
